As I look out my window tonight I can see the snow on our small patio. It’s a dark silent night. My wife is visiting a friend and my son is sound asleep. There is a deep peaceful feeling inside me. As I look outside I remember a method for relaxation, I don’t no where I read about it first. The seven-eleven breathing. If you want to relax really fast, if you want to experience the relaxation response then just try the seven-eleven breathing and you will know what the relaxation response is in a matter of minutes.

Breathe out.

Breathe in and count up to 7.

Breathe out and count up to 11.

Breathe in and count up to 7.

Breathe out and count up to 11.

Breathe in and count up to 7.

Breathe out and count up to 11.

Just continue until you notice how this method of breathing will calm your mind.
